3DMatt

It was meant to be 3DMatt with two Ts in the url as well but it was already taken. I'm open for 2D commissions and 3D print commissions.

It was pointed out that the last post about this was a little complicated so I’ve tweaked it a bit.

I’m opening up commissions to create custom-made 3D print models.
Basically, if you have an idea for something, be it a toy, a figurine or jewellery, I can create it in 3D graphics software and then have it printed in to a physical object.
All you need to do is send me a message and show me what you would like me to make. It would be ideal if you had a sketch or other images as well as a description. I cannot work solely from a description unless what you want is very, very simple.
Once the model has been completed, I will be sending it to Shapeways to be printed and then have it dispatched to your address.
Shapeways can print in a variety of materials, including plastics, metals and ceramics. You should take a look through there materials page to see what your options are for printing.
If the model can’t be printed for any reason (e.g. parts too small, too big, not structurally stable), I’ll let you know immediately so we can talk about how it can be fixed.
I can’t give an outline of price here, as it will depend entirely on the complexity, size and material used for the model. To give you an idea, the model below would cost around £80. That quote includes material, production and shipping costs.

I’ve only printed a handful of items myself, so until I get the workflow nailed down I’ll be offering commissions at a lower price. The first 10 commissions will have a 75% discount off the design price. The discount won’t apply to the material, production or shipping costs.
Payment will be through Paypal.

If you are interested or just curious about the process, please feel free to get in touch.

If you could re-blog this, it would be greatly appreciated :)
